2018: Yamoun Water network SCADA system (North-West Jenin)

The project is about water production and supply improvement in the North West Bank of Palestine, including some transmission and distribution facilities of 13 villages in the Al Yamoun area and the West Bank Water Department (WBWD) area.

The project includes:

  • 13 Reservoirs/Pumping stations with Siemens RTU and UPS backup for 24 hours.
  • 41 Distributed cabinets with Siemens RTU.
  • 22 Underground chambers with Siemens Flowmeters and Sofrel Dataloggers.
  • New SCADA Control Room based on Siemens WinCC Professional V14.

Thanks to Siemens S7-1200 PLC and its Telecontrol functionality, the SCADA was implemented with 2 ways of communication:

  1. SCADA communication - Central communication.
  2. Inter-station communication in order to allow fully automatic operation of the network even when the server is down.

It is our honour to provide the best products and best services for the villages and the people in order to assure constant supply of water. At the end of the day, every drop counts!

Features include:

1- Monitoring of all pumping stations, reservoirs and DMA including flow meters, levels, pressures and pump status.
2- Automatic operation of all sites ( pumps, motorized valves) so that the network can be left unattended.
3- SMS alarming in case of any warning or error in the system.
4- Automatic flow limiting for villages to allow fair distribution of water resources.
5- Manual operation of the network from the SCADA control room.
6- Localisation of leaks and detection suspicious flows.
7- Historical data of the network.
8- Automatic report generation.
9- Being able to identify problems and their cause via SCADA.
10- Remote access to the SCADA for urgent actions.
11- Remote reset of pumping stations instead of sending operators.
12- Operational automatic network even when the main SCADA server is down, due to inter station communication.

2018: Wrapping machine retrofit - Al-Arz Ice cream factory

PCS have retrofitted an old wrapping machine with new new equipment which will allow them to wrap different sizes of ice-cream. The machine is based on Siemens equipment, drives and motor.

The servomotor is controlled with Simotion D controller to allow the cutting of the wrap paper exactly on the black mark. The black mark sensor is used from Sick sensors.
